Stud and Flange Nut using in the battery

How they are used:


  • For Stud-Top Batteries:


  • The battery has a pre-installed threaded stud protruding from the top.

  • A battery cable with a ring terminal is placed over the stud.

  • A flange nut, often a serrated stainless steel one for better grip and corrosion resistance, is then threaded onto the stud to secure the cable.


  • For Side-Terminal Batteries:


  • The battery features side-mounted terminals that have holes or threaded inserts.

  • A stud, often a bolt-like adapter with a threaded end, is inserted into the terminal post.

  • The battery cable is attached to this stud, and then a nut (which can be a flange nut) is used to tighten and secure the cable to the stud.
